The back of the bus is always the best. "Party in the back" has been our motto for escorted tours (and have been on many). You two would fit in fabulously in the back. 😂. Getting older now so doing our 1st cruise with Azamara next month (Baltic Capitals) and 21 day Viking River cruise next year. How did you like the comparison between escorted tour (unpacking and packing and cramped days on bus) and "hotel" cruising?

Hi guys always luv your posts but I'm getting a little bit annoyed now woth so many cruise bloggers who think they'd just invented cruising... I know to the newbies of cruising it might be knowledgeable info but please come on lots of us out been cruising since ????? i remember my first experience of cruising in mid 80's watching ann greg on bbc holiday showing royal Caribbean cruise line in the Caribbean.. well i couldn't even find a travel agent with any information on rccl!!. Had to contact Miami direct .. first cruise sovereign of the seas out of Miami..( can post invoice its insane the cost for 7 nights)... But wow that was are start to cruising...30 plus with rccl then celebrity..p& O regent, crystal, and as you know my favourite silversea ... As i said love watching you both but there are two many bloggers ..

Celebrated my 50th birthday 2006 on a fabulous silversea cruise in Japan . It was absolutely amazing..did Nagasaki, Hiroshima & a very emotional day in a little village nr Kagoshima called chiran where the young kamakazi pilots left from for there final mission knowing that they wouldn't return... So emotional...but the whole vist to Japan was absolutely brilliant & so many places to list ... Enjoy your trip both of you ... Luv your posts as I've said not cruise that I would do as being spoilt by silversea since 2005... Been cruising since 1985 ..so to me your newbies 😊... Love every moment..

Loved this. Going to Japan next year with Cunard. Last time we stayed overnight at the New Otani towers and we have an overnight at the end of the cruise so hoping we are staying here again🤞Have noted the 3 places you recommend! Looking forward to next episode!!!

We had our first cruise on this ship in April 2007 on the Red Sea Magic itinerary. I don’t remember much about the ship itself. I remember catching a 24-hour bug (that had us confined to our cabin so we missed seeing the Pyramids), the *very* long days on the excursions but feeling they were worth it and the armed guards on each bus because militants had killed tourists a few years before. We saw Petra, trod in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, saw the Valleys of the Queens and the Kings and saw the temple complex at Karnak. We intended to cruise on her again but they didn’t run the itinerary we were interested in during the 2008 season. I won’t forget the sh*t hole that was Sharm airport in a hurry, either! I’d take a lot of persuading to fly there again.

It's not hard to design a new ship where a prom deck can be under or over the lifeboats. But so many new ships get this wrong.

Now that’s a proper promenade. I don’t think cruise lines realise just how much people like to go for a walk when they are on the ships. It’s lovely to take a stroll after dinner in a decent outside space or in my case, just a roll😊

You ever shit in a bucket on deck of a commercial fishing vessel while the sun rises as you steam in with 50 grand owed to you for the three day trip you just made? Yeah that’s a nicer bathroom

I’d bring my book, coffee and sit on thst settee but put a “closed” sign on the toilet entrance door 😜😜😜🤣
